Yes, this is correct! The heating element is in the center of the pad, so that your baby’s body is heated from its neck to bottom, exactly where it is needed. Heating the edges of the pad would only result in unnecessary energy consumption, because your baby will not lie there.
This is possible, but not necessary. The outer cover is very soft and easy to clean. But Wumby has universal measurements, so every changing pad cover will fit around it. You can choose whether you want to use a cover or not!
The Wumby heated changing pad is designed to warm your baby, not the air. So it may be that if you touch the pad with your hand, it seems that Wumby is not warm. By applying light pressure you will notice that the heat slowly penetrates. So only when the Wumby heated changing pad is in use you can really feel the warmth!
